School
Teacher attendance by GPS, with no machine to buy
Teachers check in from their own phone when they reach school. There’s no biometric machine to buy, queue at or repair, and student attendance takes the class teacher two taps.
In short: the school saves its location and a radius once (100 metres by default). When a teacher taps Mark my attendance, the phone sends its GPS position and our server, not the phone, checks the distance to the school. At school, they’re marked present. Too far away, the check-in is refused and shows how far they are.

How it works
Four steps, set up once
- Save the school’s location. The principal taps “use my current location” at school and sets the radius.
- Teachers check in on arrival. One tap, and the phone shares its GPS position.
- The server decides. Distance is worked out on our server from the school’s saved location, so the phone can’t simply declare itself “at school”.
- History fills itself in. Every teacher gets a monthly calendar of present, absent, late and half-day.
Compare
GPS check-in vs. a biometric machine
Nothing to buy
A biometric machine has to be bought, installed and repaired. GPS check-in uses the phones teachers already carry.
No queue at the gate
Everyone checks in on their own phone instead of waiting for one device.
Checked on our server
Presence is judged from the teacher’s location against the school’s saved location and radius.
Reports in the app
Monthly calendars for every teacher and student, and attendance export for records.
Student attendance, too
The class teacher marks daily student attendance in the app: present, absent, late or half-day. Students earn XP and keep their streak for each day they’re present, which is how attendance connects to gamified learning.
- Section-wise history for class teachers and the principal.
- A calendar for every student, visible to the student and to their parents in the parent app.
- Attendance export for records and inspections.
FAQ
GPS attendance: common questions
How does GPS attendance work for teachers?
The school saves its location and a radius. A teacher taps “Mark my attendance” on arrival, the phone sends its GPS position, and our server checks the distance to the school. At school, they are marked present; too far away, the check-in is refused.
Can teachers fake their location?
The decision is made on our server from the school’s saved location, never by the phone, and every check-in’s location and accuracy are recorded. As with any GPS system, someone using special location-spoofing tools is harder to rule out than with a biometric machine.
What radius should a school use?
The default is 100 metres from the saved point. Larger campuses can increase it.
Do we need a biometric machine?
No. GPS check-in uses teachers’ own phones, so there is no hardware to buy or repair.
